Beginnings
We first gathered in Spring 2020 as Senior Fellows of the American Leadership Forum (ALF) Silicon Valley to form an Arts and Culture affinity group to collaborate, nurture, and sustain each other through the COVID-19 pandemic – sharing our challenges, mobilizing for collective action, and advocating for the arts where and when needed.
Evolution
In the Fall of 2021, we refocused our efforts towards racial justice and cultural equity in Silicon Valley. Inspired by the calls of the Cultural New Deal and the Tenets of Principled Struggle by N’Tanya Lee, we have now evolved into a coalition focused on collective impact and systemic change to take on the bigger issues that impact us as artists, arts leaders, and arts organizations, particularly those led by and serving communities of color.
