Cultural New Deal Silicon Valley (CNDsv) is a
coalition of independent artists and arts organizations committed to working collectively for racial justice and cultural equity in Silicon Valley.

Our artists and arts organizations tell the stories of our communities and are essential in place marking, place keeping, and place making. We build and shore up the bridges between individuals and neighborhoods, connecting us through our unique and shared human experience. If our artists and arts organizations cannot live in this region, these cultural communities wither and the ties that connect us will disappear.

CNDsv Priorities

Cultural preservation

Establish state-recognized cultural districts together for the preservation of our cultural communities and identities.

  • La Avenida in East San Jose

  • Japantown in greater downtown San Jose

  • SoFA (South First Area) in downtown San Jose

Advocate for equity standards
for artists

  • Create a “state of the arts” annual report of/by/for artists of the region

  • Establish a community benefit agreement and model for fair compensation to artists

  • Advocate for City of San Jose TOT to be solely for arts & hospitality
